Scale of the Problem
Human trafficking is a global crisis that affects millions of lives. These statistics reveal the urgent need for action and awareness in our communities.
- Approx. 5,000 Northern Virginia residents are victims (gang-related, familial, pimp-controlled)
- Ages 11-14 are most targeted for trafficking
- Nearly 50,000 individuals are sold online for sexual services annually in the DC Metro Area
- DC Metro ranks 5th in total calls to the Human Trafficking Hotline and 1st per capita
